The VQG’s “Harvest of Quilts” usually takes place in the fall, approximately three years apart. Our members’ talents are showcased in many quilt genres – from traditional bed covers to wall art and minimalist-hangings, featuring hand-quilting or machine quilting on domestic or long-arm machines. There is often a challenge category to stretch an individual’s creativity.

The VQG was a featured guild at CQA’s Quilt Canada this year at the Vancouver Convention Centre! We were fortunate to have the chance to speak to so many people, local and not-so-local, and spread the word about our Guild and our “Harvest of Quilts” Show in October. Brochures were handed out about the Guild and the Quilt Show, information was exchanged, people got excited!
The 2018 Harvest of Quilts show was held at St. Mary’s Ukranian Hall in Vancouver from Oct 12-13. The response was incredibly positive, with 150 quilts featured in a wide variety of sizes and genres. The tea room was very popular with attendees needing a snack and rest, plus there were charity quilts hung for viewing and various others for sale.
Our featured guest this year was Japanese quilter Naoko Hirano.
